The Institute is in the center of Zurich. There are many hotels, of all categories, within walking distance or easily accessible by public transport. We ask that attendees make their own accommodation arrangements.

By Plane

From Zurich Airport the main station (“HB or “Hauptbahnhof”) and city centre can be reached by train (leaving at least every 15 minutes) in 10 minutes, timetable at https://www.sbb.ch/en/timetable.html or by taxi (for approximately 49 EUR / 60 CHF) in 20 minutes.

From Zurich Mainstation by Tram No. 3

From the “Hauptbahnhof” of Zurich (Zürich HB) the Institute of Education at Freiestrasse 36 can be reached by public transport in 15 minutes (with tram no. 3 see description 1 and 2)

By Car

Please note that in the vicinity of the University only a few parking spaces are available. We

Local Public Transport

Tickets have to be purchased before getting on the tram, bus or urban railway. There is no possibility to buy tickets once embarked on the public transport.

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket machines found at every stop, at airport Zurich and at the VBZ-Ticket corners (for example in the mainstation). Tickets are valid for tram, bus, urban railway and, trains from the airport.

For getting to the venue from the mainstation you will need a single ticket for one way valid 1 hour 1-2 zones CHF 4.40 or you consider buying a day pass valid 24 hours 1-2 zones CHF 8.80, this day pass is also the best option, if you travel by train coming from the airport.
